Supply Chain Management You are a new supply chain analyst at AJ Manufacturing. Munson & Witt Inc. has placed a large order of gizmos with your company. Your job is to determine the best set of suppliers to minimize procurement costs and deliver the gizmos on time. Deliver 25,000 gizmos and keep your procurement costs under $ 1,000,000 Your Goal CONTRACT CLOSE X Contract between A.J.Manufacturer and Munson and Witt, Inc. This agreement is entered into as of this day, January 1, 2019, between A.J. Manufacturer and Munson and Witt, Inc. for A.J. Manufacturer to perform manufacturing services for Munson and Witt, Inc. Services include manufactruing 25,000 gizmos to be delivered to Munson and Witt, Inc. by January 1, 2020. A.J. Manufacturing agrees to fulfill all spec and schedule requirements. Schedule will be as follows: 20% of gizmos delivered by Q1, 40% delivered by Q2, 70% by Q3, and 100% delivered by the end of Q4. Components of assembled gizmo are comprised of the following: 4 units of SKU2 and 1 unit of SKU1. Payment will be made upon receipt of final order shipment. FROM: Michelle Carols SUBJECT: Goals Good afternoon! I've finally got specifics on our budget and what our goals are with Munson. Our total budget is $1,000,000 and we need to make and deliver 25,000 gizmos by the end of the year. We will ultimately need 25,000 units of SKU1 and 100,000 units of SKU2. The costs for these components will vary depending on the supplier, so please make sure you're choosing wisely and staying within budget. And as I mentioned before, rush deliveries add 20% to our cost, so hopefully we won't need many of those. If you do decide on a rush delivery, you'll need to take that reduction in budget into consideration when placing future orders. We want our company to retain as much of the procurement cost as possible by the time the final delivery to Munson is made, so please keep an eye on this as well! The lower the total cost, the better your chances are of staying with our company. Thanks! FROM: Andrew Jacobs SUBJECT: Performance Hello, I wanted to fill you in on how we'll be judging your performance this year. There are three facets of the job to keep your eye on, which will have a metric display in the system so you can see how you're doing: 1) Order Progress, which means how many gizmos have been completed and delivered to Munson and Witt, Inc 2) Procurement Cost, which is the total cost of procuring the components we need to build gizmos. Keep in mind that we need these costs to be as low as possible. Consistently failing to keep costs low may result in your termination. 3) Customer Morale, which reflects how happy Munson and Witt is with the timeliness of our deliveries. They are expecting us to deliver 20% of the order in the first quarter, 40% by the second quarter, 70% by the third quarter, and 100% by the end of the fourth quarter.
