Suppose that aardvarks have two genes affecting the phenotype of their tongues. One gene affects the texture of papillae: aardvarks that are homozygous for the PR allele have rough papillae, and aardvarks that are homozygous for the PS allele have smooth papillae. Aardvarks with the genotype PR/PS have intermediate papillae. Another gene (T/t) is epistatic to the first gene and controls whether aardvarks have any papillae at all. Aardvarks with at least one copy of the T allele have some kind of papillae (depending on their genotype at the P locus), but aardvarks with the t/t genotype have no papillae, regardless of their P gene genotype. Suppose you cross a male intermediate-papillae aardvark with a female rough-papillae aardvark, and their first offspring has no papillae.

How many unique kinds of gametes can the male aardvark make? What are all the possible gamete genotypes.
