To complete this assignment:
1. Wait for the instructor to assign you in a group of four or five students. 2. Review the rubric for this assignment. 3. Choose an industry for your business. Some examples include game designing, independent newspaper, travel agency, detective agency, advertising agency, modelling agency, and dating agency.
4. Choose a job position that is important to the success of your business. For example, modelling manager position in a modelling agency, or game designer position in a game designing company.
5. Inform the instructor of your business and job position to get the approval. 6. Write the mission statement, vision statement, and core values of your company. 7. Briefly describe the business strategy of your company (or how your company competes successfully in the industry). 8. Write a job description and job specification for the position chosen in Step 4. It should include Job Title, Job Summary, Job Description, and Job Specification.
9. Develop a recruitment and selection plan to hire people for that position. Recruitment should include details of the recruitment sources, number of hires, number of candidates, estimated cost for each source, and timeline for each recruiting activity.
Selection should include details of the selection process, interview questions, and employment tests.
10. Develop an orientation and training plan for new hires in that position. It should include details of training objectives, training methods, topics, trainers, training venue, and training evaluation. Make sure you also mention the role of the Human Resources Department, the supervisor, and a mentor in assisting a new employee through the socialization process.
11. Develop a performance management plan for that position. It should include details of the performance appraisal process, performance objectives, appraisal frequency, appraisal method, and appraisal forms.
12. Develop a compensation package for that position. It should include the following components:
