Synthesize a process flowsheet for benzoic acid production by providing the justification for each step involved in process synthesis activity. The primary reaction is: Toluene +1.5O2 Benzoic acid +H2O However, reversible by-products (benzaldehyde and benzylic alcohol) as well as heavier ones (assume phenyl benzoate and benzyl benzoate) are also formed at the reaction conditions of 160C and 10atm. Pure toluene and air are used as the raw materials, and the toluene conversion is kept at 30 to 35%. Physical properties for components involved in the process are given in following table
