In the course, various quantitative models were studied that support managerial decision making, either in situations of certainty or uncertainty. This work proposes that the student can apply one of the methods studied, deepening in its use and application.

Instructions:

1. Choose one of the quantitative methods studied in class:

a) Equilibrium Point Solution.

b) Regressions (simple and multiple linear).

c) Inventory Model (ABC, EOQ and ROP).

d) Estimation of Projections (time series data).

e) Linear Programming (its different applications).

f) Transportation and distribution models (Northwest Corner Method and the Stone Leap Method).

g) Network Model.

h) Project Management Models: PERT/CPM Technique.

i) Queuing Systems Models.

2. Seek information on the selected method. Include studies or research where the method has been used.

3. Analyze the advantages and disadvantages of using the method according to the results of the research or studies evaluated.

4. Using data from one of the studies or a hypothetical situation, apply the selected method and present the results (spreadsheets of the program used).

5. The work will follow the format presented below.

I. Executive Summary

Present a summary of your work with the main findings and conclusions (No more than one page).

II. Introduction

Background and problem statement

Establish the possible situations that may confront managers in decision making in situations of certainty and uncertainty and how this situation may affect the company's operations. Use other authors to support your arguments.

Justification:

Why is it necessary to do the research? Use other authors to support your arguments.

III. Body of the report

Literature Review (Brief)

Set aside the authors you use to present the data related to the selected method; include at least two investigations that have been conducted on the method you are investigating. Share the purpose, methodology, findings and results of these.

Data

This part is where you apply the selected method. Present and/or explain the following:

Describe the data used and where you obtained it from. (if it was from any source or if it is from modeling a hypothetical real scenario).

Findings and Results (spreadsheet and interpretation).

It will depend on the selected method.

IV. Conclusions and recommendations

Not less than three paragraphs.

V. Bibliography

Minimum 5 references (You can use references from the textbook and/or studies or articles from the Supplementary Material).
