Task 2
Conduct an internet search based on the market condition approach. Research 3 hotels
to formulate the comparisons (use the hotel's website, not a 3rd party, in order to get
accurate information).
Indicate the following, for each hotel (including your own):
a. hotel name,
b. star rating,
c. location,
d. room types (at least 3) & rates and
e. facilities offered

After evaluating the information in Task 1 and 2, propose the new revised spring room
rates for your hotel. Remember to indicate the previous room rates as well, to show the
difference. Explain your reason for the proposed change in room rates (why do you think
these rates are appropriate and why do they differ from past rates).

Use the information from part 1 to complete this task.
Phone the similar star rated hotels and ask for the Reservation Department.
Pretend you are calling as a future guest (do not say you are a hospitality student).
The focus is on investigating the knowledge of the Reservation staff, with reference to
the hotel's products and services. Once you have rated and provided justification for the
individual hotels' services, you will use these as guidelines to improve your hotel's Front
Office Department.
