Task 1 Following is a gist extract from the Bloomberg news report Tracy Withers - Oct 10, 2011 3:49 PM GMT+1100. (http://www.bloomberg.comews/2011-10-09/infratil-may-sell- glasgow-airport-as-ryanair-reduces-flights.html) Privatization of Airport Infrastructure "Prestwick, Scotland's busiest cargo airport, and Manston, east of London, handled 560,289 passengers in the five months to Aug. 31. Glasgow Prestwick Airport is wholly owned by Infratil Limited (IFT). IFT may sell Glasgow Prestwick Airport following flight cuts by Ryanair Holdings Plc, the airfield's largest operator of scheduled passenger services. Combined passenger numbers at Prestwick and Infratil's other U.K. airport, Manston, tumbled 33 percent in April through August, predominately because of Ryanair paring flights at its Glasgow hub. Infratil may use the proceeds from selling Prestwick for SWIN investments in other airports or to boost its portfolio of energy assets in Australia and New BUR Zealand, which offer more reliable earnings. IFT has also sold a 90 percent stake in NE * Germany's Luebeck Airport and its shares in Auckland International Airport Ltd. (AIA) SWINBURNE UNIVERSITY over the past two years." OF TECHNOLOGY Assuming the role of an Independent Risk Management Consultant for the Australian Government (Ministry), you are required to prepare a report on Airport infrastructure privatization, including: (i) a Brainstorming or Preliminary Hazard Analysis for identifying risks/ opportunities; and (ii) a Cause-and-Effect analysis
