The grade report assists administrators in evaluating the performance of multiple students across multiple classes.

  1. What normal form is this report currently in? Explain.
  2. Draw this table out into a relational model (as we have been doing in class) and identify the primary key(s) and thepartial dependencies that is, are there any fields that are dependent on part, but not all of the primary key. Identify any transitive dependencies that is, are there any fields dependent on other fields that are not part of the key.
  3. Now break your tables out into 3NF so that all of your dependencies have been resolved. Using Erwin, model your relational diagram into an ERD (like we did with the in-class example)
  1. Combine the 3NF models you created in Parts 1 & 2 to produce a more comprehensive model to meet the needs of the college. Be sure that each entity is only accounted for once, and that relationships are represented accurately.
