Task 1. Review the DRAMA Download DRAMAor the SIFT testLinks to an external site. for reviewing sources. This will give you a basic framework for the types of factors you need to be considering when developing your evaluation guide.

2. Create a list of guidelines for evaluating sources to be used in your scientific poster project. You may revise DRAMA or SIFT or use these as guidelines for your criteria but you should not copy and paste these guidelines as your own. Yours should be unique and reflect your own thoughts and ideas.

Questions to think about as you are creating your rubric:

For your topic, how important is it for sources to be recent? Are there situations in which it would be acceptable to use older sources, If so, what are they? What types of information sources are generally cited by scholars or professionals who research or write about your topic? What are the characteristics of sources that are generally considered authoritative? What makes someone an authority or recognized expert in your topic? What would give someone the authority to speak on your topic? What type of expertise, affiliations, or experience would they have? Is it usually acceptable to use popular sources (news and magazine articles, social media) in academic research? What would be a situation in which it would be appropriate to use popular sources? Are there any types of sources that would usually be considered inappropriate to use/cite in this course?

3. Include your source evaluation guide in your post below. You may include your guide as text in the body of your post or include it as an attached file.
