Task 2 The degree of purity of hydrogen can be increased by diffusion through a thin plate (sheet) of palladium (Pd), the process is described in sections 7.3 ed. 9 and 5.3 ed.10. Calculate the mass in kg per hour of Hydrogen (H) which diffuses through a 5 mm plate of Palladium (Pd) with an area = 0.25 m^2 at a temp. at 500C. The concentration of (H) on both sides is 2.4 kg/m^3 and 0.6 kg/m^3, respectively. The diffusion coefficient, D = 1.0 x 10-8 m^2 /s, assume a steady state diffusion.
