Task 3: Matching children's interests The purpose of this task is for you to demonstrate that you can match creative opportunities to children's interests. You must also demonstrate that you can: use and expand on children's ideas in relation to creativity model and share enthusiasm for creative work with children engage children in talking about their creations and ask them open-ended questions use flexibility to respond to children's interests and needs structure and document opportunities and intentional teaching strategies that assist children to explore the arts. Preparation In collaboration with your Workplace Supervisor select two children who were involved in Task 2 and who are known to enjoy visual art experiences. With permission from your Workplace Supervisor , access these children's developmental records to identify their interests, skills, knowledge and likes. You may also have a conversation with these children to ask them what they like to do and explore what is of interest to them in relation to visual arts (exploring an artist art techniques or artist's subjects). Identify and describe for each child one visual arts experience that matches the child's interests. The experiences should encourage freedom of expression (child's agency), appreciation of aesthetic values and curiosity. Instructions Gather the information about each child. L. !\\J Access the Pinterest Board 'Creative Arts' (which includes visual arts) to explore and identify a visual arts experience that would be of interest to each child.
