TASK
"Struggle of Natalie and Paul"
Despite the fact that Natalie and Paul worked in neighboring departments, they rarely crossed paths. As a rule, they had general meetings, planning meetings and corporate celebrations. Once, at a regular collective meeting, a dispute ensued between them on one professional issue, which concerned the organization of work between employees of their departments. Starting with comments about the shortcomings of the neighboring offices, they switched to personal insults, and only when their general manager asked to calm down, they stopped public showdowns. After that, they tried to avoid communication with each other, explaining that they simply could not find a common language.
Time passed, and as a result of the horizontal movement up the career ladder, Paul finds himself in the same department with Natalie. After Paul moved to the department where Natalie worked, their dislike became very obvious. No matter what Natalie said, Paul always commented on her words in a sarcastic manner. They did not miss the moment to pin each other. The head of the department talked to both of them, and everything seemed to stop. But in fact, the negative attitude did not disappear, but began to carefully hide.
The tension grew. Colleagues began to express antipathy to each other, competing in work. They tried to get ahead of each other in solving work issues, to complete their tasks faster than the other, and to show the manager that they are better at coping with tasks. After working alongside Paul for three months in a state of active struggle, Natalie stopped trying. She lost ground, adopted the tactics of indifference, while Paul did an excellent job and showed good results.
After some time, Natalie decided to have a frank conversation with the head of the department and explained the situation. The head of the department, in response, decided to send Natalie to refresher courses and two months later put her in the position of a leading specialist, as a result of which Paul became her subordinate.
