Task: You have been asked by your manager to present a 6-10-minute talk to a group of employees in your organisation. You have been told that there are some employees who are in the belief that the designs and work they are creating for the purposes of their employment does not belong to the organisation. And if they wanted to go sell it to some other organisation, they will be well within their rights to do so. You have to address the issue and enlighten the employees about the principles of employment law/contract that they could be breaching by not adhering to intellectual property laws. You must use relevant provisions of law, texts and related case laws to prepare for this presentation. Purpose: This assignment serves two purposes. Firstly, it gives students the opportunity to apply their understanding of the various key legal principles. Secondly, it offers the opportunity to practice and refine your presentations skills. Regardless of the particular format the ability to present your capabilities in a confident and effective manner is important for career advancement.
