Teacher candidates will (electronically) present the results of their research on a specific legal scenario or issue in education. Check with your instructor to ensure that your topic is not a duplicate of a classmate's topic. Download and read the assignment rubric to be sure that your presentation meets all benchmarks. A copy of the presentation is due in the assignment folder prior to the scheduled class presentation. Both the content and presentation will be assessed (200 points). In this module, you will demonstrate your ability to apply state statutes, regulations, and policies to your rights and responsibilities as educators by presenting an overview of important issues affecting education in general or a specific scenario. You will provide a thorough analysis of the issue and its ramifications for educators. You should cite at least six (6) specific sources pertinent to the issue(s), including court cases, state statutes, and local/state policies. The presentation is intended to display your knowledge of legal issues and the application of that knowledge to education, as well as your creativity in presenting the information, as specified in the rubric.
