Technology now makes it possible for employers to keep track of almost all workplace communications by their employees, on the phone and in cyberspace. Employers are able to monitor employees through video, audio and other types of electronic surveillance. They may be able to use GPS tracking on vehicles and phones, access all communications sent through company provided equipment, and even monitor what is said on employee social media accounts. Since many of you may have experienced, or will experience this in the future, please discuss the following: 1) Do you think it is fair or ethical for an employer to monitor an employee's phone and other electronic devices while at work? Why or why not? 2) Would you provide your social media usernames and passwords to an employer, or prospective employer, if it was made a condition of your employment? Why or why not
