Terence was shopping at the mall. It was crowded. Terence spotted a young man running very quickly, weaving past groups of shoppers. Another man, who was dressed in a dark blue uniform, was running after him. As he was near the exit doors of the mall, Terence decided to act. Terence placed his body between the young man and the doors, blocking the young man's path. The young man collided with Terence, and both fell to the floor. As the young man attempted to get up, Terence reached up, grabbing his arm, and pulled him down to the floor again. In retaliation, the young man punched Terence in the side of the head. The police were called. It turns out that the young man was a in a hurry to catch a bus. The man in the uniform who was running after him was his father, who worked at the mall as a security guard. He too was trying to catch the bus as his workday was done. The police decided not to lay any criminal charges, as neither Terence nor the young man suffered any physical injuries. Both were embarrassed by what happened. Explain this incident in terms of tort law.
