The 2020 Competencies Assessment Tool from the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) assists healthcare leaders with evaluating level of expertise in areas of management (American College of Healthcare Executive [ACHE], 2020). The first section of the assessment focuses on communication. My average scores for this category were 2.9 in relationship management, 2.4 in communication skills, and 1.3 in facilitation and negotiation. Communication skills are very important in my current role. I have 13 direct reports that all work remote. It is challenging to feel connected when you are not face to face with your team. On a few occasions I have had to lead a meeting and present a new workflow. I am still trying to improve my comfort level with using technology, especially in our virtual environment. I have very little experience with mediation and negotiation. This does not fall under my current responsibilities. I would like to improve my presentation skills and become more comfortable with using power point and excel. I would also like to be more confident with conflict resolution. I tend to procrastinate and avoid uncomfortable conversations. I need to work on being more assertive and addressing an issue when it arises. The second section evaluated competence on leadership skills. My score for leadership skills and behavior was 2.5, 3 for organizational climate and culture, 2.8 for communicating vision, and 2.5 for managing change. These skills are very important in
