The 6 - sigma methodology is a well-known quality management philosophy.

Research a case study of an organisation that used the 6-sigma methodology to improve their operations. The case study should be specific to a process in the organisation that was improved. At the hand of this example, explain the following:

1. Explain what the 6-sigma methodology is

2. Explain how each phase of the DMAIC method was conducted in the example

Make sure to add a correct reference according to the Harvard-style in your presentation for the case study that your group is discussing. Note that some case studies may refer to Lean Six Sigma (LSS) which is also acceptable to use as an example.

You will be assessed by means of the following criteria

Relevance of the case study (i.e. is it a valid case study that makes use of the 6-sigma methodology)

Correct explanation of the 6-sigma methodology with specific understanding of the statistical meaning of the 6-sigma philosophy

Correct explanation of the DMAIC cycle with specific mention of tools used and the output of each phase of the DMAIC cycle.
