The AAS degree program is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), and we are guided by the NAEYC 2021 Standards for Higher Education. This course focuses on Standard 4: Developmentally, Culturally, and Linguistically Appropriate Teaching Practices and specifically, Standard 4a, which reads: Candidates understand and demonstrate positive, caring, supportive relationships and interactions as the foundation for their work with young children.
