The adoption of smart phones and social media apps has been much discussed. One aspect of these devices is that students tend to be distracted by their phones during class. A recent survey reported proportions that 86% of 1004 randomly selected females used their smart phones during class time, compared to 81% of 1009 randomly selected males.
