As part of an organisation's strategic plan, human resources can be proactive by using workforce planning to structure what will be required for cost- effective and timely planned steps that will enhance the organisation's future ambitions.
Performance evaluations are an official interaction between managers and employees in which the manager assesses job performance and discusses in detail strengths, weaknesses and opportunities for development of the employee (Henderson, 2012). Ideally, management conducts appraisals in an "objective, consistent, and fair way" (Heijden, 2004).
