the authors ask questions and identify six major areas of investigation regarding the future of North America. The six areas (in no particular order) are: Environmental issues; population and demographic change; culture, race, and ethnicity; the economy and economic change; urbanization; and globalization and North America's role in the world. Keep in mind that the the textbook was written a few years ago, and the authors saw these areas as the key ones.
