The black bullhead is common throughout Minnesota waters. We are interested in predicting the presence of black bullhead in a lake using the lake characteristics. Each observation in the data set corresponds to a lake. The following are the variables in the data set: area.hectares - the area of the lake in question, measured in hectares. max_depth_m - the maximum depth of the lake, measured in meters. mean.gdd - the mean growing degree days (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ Growing_degree-day) at the lake. This provides a measure of how much heat/sunlight the lake gets, which can be an important predictor of plant growth. In lakes, algae and phytoplankton growth can depend on heat. proportion_disturbed_ws - the proportion of the watershed of the lake that is disturbed. A watershed is the spatial region that drains into a lake, so all the area "uphill" of a lake where rain falls and drains into the lake in question (perhaps entering a river first) before entering any other lake
