The Broadway Cafe Project: The object of this project is to tie the concepts learned in class into a final project so that students can see how they fit together and experience the process of working on a project team. The premise of the caf is that the students inherit their grandfather's coffee shop that started in 1952 and still operates like it is 1952. The students need to bring the cafe into the 21st century. We choose a coffee shop because it is instantaneously identifiable for students. We feel the case will give the students a true business approach to IT and allow them to work hands-on with many of the intangible concepts we teach. It will also help them tie all of the IT concepts together to see how they work to help a business operate (even a coffee shop which is not an IT business
Supply Chain Management: The average company spends nearly half of every dollar it earns on production needsgoods and services it needs from external suppliers to keep producing. A supply chain consists of all parties involved, directly or indirectly, in the procurement of a product or raw material. SCM involves the management of information flows between and among stages in a supply chain to maximise total supply chain effectiveness and profitability. In the past, companies focused primarily on manufacturing and quality improvements within their four walls; However, focus on the following processes: the ability to identify vendors, contact vendors, negotiate price discounts and quality of products, purchase goods and services from vendors, tracking and managing the shipments, inspecting the shipments, placing shipments in inventory, updating the various systems and departments, returning bad shipments to vendors, paying the vendors and updating the records, and manage the relationships with vendor.
Supply Chain Mgmt (Rewrite description to focus on procurement and inventory mgmt) Suggested Project outline:
Hardware/Software
Using the non-functional requirements decide what type of hardware and software would fulfil these requirements
Non Functional requirements:
No | Category | Description |
01 | Efficiency | The efficiency of services increases when the system will fulfill and works accurately on all the checks and conditions of the system. |
02 | Usability | The system is easy to use, and every user can easily proceed with their specified tasks. |
03 | Accessibility | The system is accessible by anyone. |
04 | Availability | System should be available 24/7. |
05 | Stability | The application must always run smoothly. Comprehensive error handling is required for this. In the worst-case scenario, the system must also be able to be shut down in a controlled manner. |
06 | Accuracy | The system's accuracy is also a top priority. Particular care must be taken in the multiplicative calculation to avoid rounding errors or other calculation errors. Because the entire system has been classified as high-risk, tax and control authorities must be able to rely on the calculation at all times. |
07 | Performance | The application should load and be usable within 3 seconds. The application should update the interface on interaction within 2 seconds. |
08 | Reliability | In event of a disaster, the latest backup should be immediately restored, such that the system is offline for less than one hour. |
Maintainability | The application should use continuous integration so that features and bug fixes can be deployed quickly without downtime. |
