The Case of 3D Printing Gone Wild

Looney Lorraine, an old friend calls you and says, "Please get over here as soon as possible."

You arrive and she asks you to "Stand on the scanner." You stand on the electronic pad. Lights flash. You feel funny inside. 60 seconds later you see an exact replica of your self standing in a glass tube.

She says, "Cool, eh?" Then she pushes a button, and your duplicate self disappears into a puddle of muck. She says, "We don't want an extra one of you walking around, do we?"

You realize she has done it. She has combined 3d printing and cloning into one amazing machine.

She hands you some wine and says that she thinks she wants to patent the machine and its software.

She asks you, "Can I Patent this machine and software? Can I patent my clones? What do I have to do to patent them?"
