The case of Anne Sacoolas has been in and out of the news over the past couple of years. Ms. Sacoolas was the wife of an American diplomat living in the United Kingdom. In 2019, she was driving an SUV and struck and killed a teenager, Harry Dunn, who was riding a motorbike. After the accident, she admitted driving on the wrong side of the road and striking Mr. Dunn. However, she claimed "diplomatic immunity" and flees the UK. The British government demands she be extradited to the UK to face charges. The US government refuses that request. Eventually, the Dunn family is granted the right to sue Ms. Sacoolas in the US.
