The case study of two organizations that embarked on a greening project of change shows how context matters for both organizational change and leadership success. The authors of the study $($Anacona et al$)$ show that it matters where organizations start from and move toward on the spectrum of $$command and control$$ to $$cultivate and coordinate$.$ While the former is a traditional organizational model based on heroic leadership, the latter moves towards what is now called collective or distributed leadership $($decentering the individual $$hero$$ leader$).$
