The City provides eligible employees with the opportunity to save the City funds by taking Voluntary Time-Off With Partial Pay (VTN). The employee may request the use of VTN for up to ninety (90) regularly scheduled workdays in a calendar year. VTN must be taken in increments of full or half work days. Employees may not use VTN during any period of legally entitled unpaid leave such as FLA, FCRA, and/or DLA, in which case the use of VTN does not result in cost savings but instead results in significant increased costs to the City. Subject to operational needs, the request for VTN can be denied for reasons outlined in the City handbook. The City has a pay code with the letter designation VTN that is to be used to accomplish a voluntary leave of absence.
