The Clients currently have their own laptops, as well as two workstations and a network printer in the office. They also have a wireless router with built in cable modem from their ISP, but feel it is insufficient for their needs. $1.$ The construction of the apartment is standard, except that the wall stud, on $18-$inch centers, are metal. We believe this creates a partial $$Faraday Cage$$ effect in certain locations in the apartment. This means that wireless connectivity is affected to the point that the use of a Davis & Davis Apartment Network single Wireless Local Area Network $($WLAN$)$ as a primary source of Internet for the whole apartment is not a viable option. $2.$ The apartment is on the top floor $(3$rd Floor$),$ so there is attic $$plenum$$ space above it to ease installation. $3.$ The only existing wiring in the apartment comes from the point of demarcation to the wireless router. There are however seven $(7)$ telecom boxes complete with conduit to the attic in place but covered with wall plates. $4.$ Note: The Clients have gotten the written OK from their superintendent to run cabling through their apartment walls. C$.$ Server and Workstation Administrative Services: The clients do not need any computers, servers, or printers. D$.$ Network Administration Services: The clients are not short of technical expertise. They are, in their own right, very technical in nature. They also have lots of resources $($you for example$)$ from which to help administer, make changes to$,$ and so on to the network. However, their primary goal is to use their systems...not to have to constantly manage them. So$,$ your design needs to be robust yet require a minimum of administration.
