The company you have been working for over three years comes with an offer on promoting you from the sales representative to the sales floor manager. Your current compensation with Company A is 43K/year and this does not include benefits. Company A is roughly 45 min drive from your home. The current offer does not include any benefits package however it offers an increase of 10% to your salary and after 3 years will increase it again only if the quarter sales will increase by 2-5%. You also recently received an offer from another Company B that is 30 minutes away from your home for the same sales floor manager position but with a lower salary of 45k/year and no benefits package included. However, Company B will increase your salary once a year by 2-5 % (depending on your performance) and this will be valid after 2 years of full-time employment with them. 1. Explain what would be your steps in preparing for this negotiation? 2. Explain what would be your counteroffer for company A and company B? Explain the logic behind your choice.
