The construction industry has been bogged by collapsing buildings, accidents, and high cost of construction. It has been suggested that there are inadequate regulations covering safety of labourers and general operations at construction sites. Another school of thought suggest that there are adequate regulations, about fourteen, but they are not adhered. The principal statutes affecting the construction industry may be found in the Building Bye-Laws, Public Health Act and Labour Laws.
