The cost of health care is rising faster than most other items. To learn more about the problem a survey was undertaken to determine whether differences in health care expenditures exist between men and women. The survey randomly sampled men and women aged 21, 22, . . ., 65 and determined the total amount spent on health care. Do these data allow us to infer that men and women spend different amounts on health care?
