The course wants us to focus on the logistics aspect of SAP S/4HANA which is different from SAP ERP which we were introduced to during our semester. The course also allows us to use features and understand their functionality on our own. The training helps individuals know more about the logistics aspect, new features and developments in SAP S/4HANA.

To start with, there is a Cloud Application Library(CAL) solution which can help us run all the processes covered in the solution. We are also provided with information on how to create our own instance using SAP CAL. The next unit talks about how SAP S/4HANA does not cover SD rebate processing but instead supports users with condition contract management in Settlement Management. With this software, there are benefits like reduced data footprint and memory, more flexibility and improved functionality which can be used in innovative ways. We also learnt how to create condition contracts and about the contract and settlement data types. The unit also talked about how purchasing rebates and sales rebates management is similar but the documents involved differ. In unit 3, we learned that the preliminary documents are optional, can be used for negotiation purposes before the final document and are structured to look like the original documents. Unit 4 talks about production planning and talks about MRP Live, a feature which allows to consider constraints like resources, capacity and setup conditions. In Unit 5, the trainer talks about SAP Fiori applications which cover production operations like processing orders, analytics in terms of costs and manufacturing. The trainer even gave a demo on how users can monitor production orders using Fiori apps. One of the biggest advantages talked about is how the SAP S/4HANA is its ability to integrate seamlessly with other SAP business functions. Unit 6 talks about the Extended Warehouse Management wherein we learn about the features present to support outbound logistics. In outbound processing, there are components like picking, packing, staging and load management. The major benefits of this include better customer service, increased productivity of operation, process flexibility and reduced order cycle times. Unit 7 informs us about SAP Transportation Management wherein we are able to select carriers based on default routes available in the system itself, and if we use Advanced SAPTM we can use more advanced criteria to select carriers. If users employ advanced consultation management, they can even access functionality like tendering. Unit 8 introduces us to Flexible Workflow Configuration and the expert informs us about the term itself as its new. Flexible workflow aims to simplify workflow configuration and is available for documents associated with sourcing and procurement. This application helps work with the business requirements and deliver the results in the right sequence, with the right data to the right people at the right time. Unit 9 is essentially a demo on running a workflow on the features involved with this application like running a workflow on purchase requisition and restarting a flexible workflow. It certainly helps with simpler workflow configuration and a better user interface.
