The debate concerning the influence of inherited traits and abilities compared to the influence of the environment on human development has been argued for decades. Currently, most theorists don't debate which is more important, because there is substantial evidence that both are important. But understanding nature or nurture is important to understanding children's individual differencesand thus important for all early childhood educators to understand.

1. Why are nature and nurture important? Research twin studies that supports how twin studies show us the importance of both nature and nurture. Provide specific examples to support your thoughts and findings.
