The director position at OLOW is currently open. It has not been decided if this position will be filled. The coding positions at OLOW share one job description and consists of only one level. Document Imaging Specialists at OLOW also perform copying of records for ROI when time allows. All transcription at OLOW takes place within the hospital. The Chart Complete Clerks at OLOW perform chart analysis and the Chart Management Clerks retrieve medical records for ROI coordinators and for other areas within the facility. OLOW will transition to an EPIC EHR system over the next six months. All OLOW employees will be centralized at the WGMC location with the exception of two. Two OLOW employees will remain at the original OLOW location to perform ROI and Birth Certificate functions. OLOW will no longer provide physician coding. WGMC must undergo massive restructuring. The HIM Department must reengineer processes and eliminate 25% of the combined staff as a result of this merger. The HIM department at WGMC cannot accommodate all of the centralized positions in the existing floor plan. All coders will be sent home to work remotely (telecommuting)
