My Topic: Animals

Language Activity: Read the book Ten Little Farm Friends and print out 2 sets of printable animals that go along with the book. For the activity, I will cut out one set of the printable of the animals and tape them on the wall. The second set of animals I'll cut out and color them as the animals in the book. The activity will allow the kids to match correct farm animals to the one on the wall. While they are doing that I will ask them what animal do they have and what sound the animals makes.

Math Activity: A fun animal themed math game/activity that help kids with counting, sorting, and adding/subtraction. This activity would be a hands on activity. This math activity consist of using real toy animals of the child's choice, math problems (ex. 2+3) it can be written on a paper, a white board or flash cards (anything that can be put in front of the child). The child will use the animals to help with math problems by sorting the animals by numbers and counting them to get the answer to their math problem.

Art Activity: I'll allow each child in the class to pick an animal. I'll provide each child a print out of the animal Each child will be able to use colors, markers, glitter, glue on eyes, stickers, string, paint, scissors, cut out dots, fur, cotton balls, etc. to design their animals as their own choice. It will allow the to imitate the physical looks of their animal they chose. For example, it a student chose a fish he/she will be able to use the glitter to present as scales, or the cotton balls as fur for other animals, string for animal tail, etc.
