The education support worker has noticed that a student who requires additional support but who is always cheerful and helpful is becoming withdrawn and is not as responsive as they used to be. The student has always handed in assignments on time and performed well in tests and quizzes, but has suddenly begun performing poorly. Over the last month assignments have no longer been handed in on time and some are not handed in at all.

The support worker talks to the student who says that their parents are divorcing. The support worker is concerned that the student has lost interest in activities they previously enjoyed, is not interacting normally with others and appears be losing traction with their school work. These are uncharacteristic behaviours. Although they are being supportive and trying to help, the support worker is concerned about the student's emotional wellbeing.

To whom should they report and what information should be included in the report? In your answer which can be relatively short, take into consideration the obvious behaviours and their impact on academic performance.
