The educational profile of the workforce has changed as millennials move into the workforce while older workers retire. A PEW research study examined the relationship between generations and educational status. Individuals were classified by birth date ranges: Millennial, 1981-1996; Gen X, 1965-1980; Boomer, 1946-1964; and Silent, before 1946. The following table gives the percents of men who had earned a bachelor's degree while they were young for eachgeneration.
