The ERD shows the following entities:

Person: This entity stores the basic information about all persons, including their SSN$,$ name, address, city, state, zip, and email.

Employee: This entity stores the additional information about employees, such as their date hired.

Volunteer: This entity stores the additional information about volunteers, such as their skills.

Donor: This entity stores the additional information about donors.

Item: This entity stores the information about items, such as their ID and description.

The ERD also shows the following relationships:

Person$-$Employee: This relationship indicates that a person can be an employee.

Person$-$Volunteer: This relationship indicates that a person can be a volunteer.

Person$-$Donor: This relationship indicates that a person can be a donor.

Donor$-$Item: This relationship indicates that a donor can donate one or more items.

Item$-$Donor: This relationship indicates that an item can be associated with no donor or one donor.

The ERD is designed to be flexible enough to accommodate the occasional person who does not belong to any of the three types $($employee$,$ volunteer, or donor$),$ as well as the person who belongs to two or more of these types.
