The following Case Study comes from Chapter 8 of your textbook:
LeAnn works as a surgical assistant in an outpatient surgery center. Near the end of each week, the surgery schedule for the next week is entered in the office computer, then one copy is printed and made available to all those employees affected by posting it in the employee break room. Employees may not take copies of the surgery schedule home, because it contains patients' names, addresses, telephone numbers, types of surgery to be performed, insurance information, and patient ID numbers. LeAnn takes a photo of the schedule with her smartphone. A nurse who works with LeAnn has cautioned her about the practice, but LeAnn sees no problem with it, and says it saves her time that others spend handwriting notes. Are there legal and/or ethical problems with this practice, either from the standpoint of the way the schedule is posted, or from the standpoint of LeAnn's practice of taking a photo with her smartphone?
