I One example of a game theory interaction is the Prisoner's Dilemma. Both of the guilty players in the game known as "Prisoner's Dilemma" are required to select a choice that could potentially have serious ramications for the rest of their lives. This choice might be the difference between life and death for either one of them. If they both confess, then each of them will receive a sentence of two years in jail, regardless of which one of them confessed rst. This penalty will apply to both of them regardless of which one of them confessed rst. - They will both be subject to this punishment despite the fact that only one of them has admitted their guilt thus far. Even if one of them admitted their guilt before the other, this sentence will still be carried out regardless of the order in which the admissions were made. If, on the other hand, only one of the prisoners admits that they were responsible for the crime, the other prisoner will be given a sentence of ve years in prison for their crime, while the prisoner who admitted their guilt will be released from jail. I The prisoner who admitted their guilt will be released from jail. If none of the individuals who have been convicted is willing to confess, then the sentence for both of them, assuming that they are found guilty, will be raised to an amount of time that they spend imprisoned equal to one year. The solution to this riddle sheds light on how game theory may be applied to problems that occur in the "real world," which is where it can be particularly benecial because of its applicability. In this scenario, convicts are required to conduct an in-depth analysis of the benets and drawbacks of confessing so that they can select the course of action that will be most benecial to them given their particular set of circumstances. Because even if the prisoner who admit his/her crime, he/she still needs to suffer one yearjail instead of being released. In fact, from my perspective, the nal outcome of Prisoner's Dilemma would be what the police ofciers want and try to reach the Nash Equilibrium that both prisoners confess and get into prison for three years. Specically, in this case, the police ofciers actually know that both prisoners would remain silent by communicating with each other before getting caught, because this will be the best for both of them to get into jail for less and equal years (if they trust each other). Considering this situation, the police ofciers would separate them into different rooms without any communication. By this way, the police officiers would offer the choice of the one who confesses would suffer one yearjail while the one who remain silent would suffer ve years jail. And during the interrogation, the police ofcers would also deceive them by telling them the other has confessed his/her crime, for the purpose of destroying the trust between them and misleading the one who remains silent changes the mind and decides to confess for sufferring less years for jail instead of ve years. Finally, the outcome would meet what the police ofciers want, reaching B the Nash Equilibrium that both prisoners confess and suffer one extra year totally with three years for each of them
