The following is a Fridel-Cfrafts acylation expermient with a unknown that was mixed with AlCl3 these are the IR spectrum, nmr H1 proton nmr C-13, and NMR DEPT please tell me what the uknown is. Please do a complete interpretation of the IR and NMR spectra (label peaks, draw compunds and identify which peak is which, etc) and also please explain!! it thank you!
possible uknowns:
Toluene; Ethylbenzene; o-Xylene (1,2-dimethylbenzene); m-Xylene (1,3-dimethylbenzene); p-Xylene (1,4-dimethylbenzene); Pseudocumene (1,2,4-trimethylbenzene); Anisole (methoxybenzene) ; 1,2-Dimethoxybenzene; 1,3-Dimethoxybenzene ; 1,4-Dimethoxybenzene; or Mesitylene (1,3,5-trimethylbenzene).
