The following is a partial EHR migration path for a community hospital. Using the Gartner EHR Generation Criteria on page 60, Figure 3.1, as a guide:

1. Identify at least three elements of the migration path that are in the correct phase, and three elements that do not belong in the phase.

2. For each of the three phases in this migration path (Phase I, Phase III, Phase V), identify where the hospital would be in the HIMSS Analytics "EMR Adoption Model" (EMRAM Criteria). In other words, in which Stage (0-7) would the Gartner generations (I, III, V) fall?
