Be sure to identify client/case name (if any - in some instances, the correct answer will be "none"), services rendered, whether the matter would be billable/non-billable, and the amount of time spent on the matter.

8:00 - 8:12am: Got a cup of coffee, talked to other staff members, reviewed scheduled/things to do list, and reviewed email inbox.

8:13 - 8:25am: Talked to your supervising attorney (J. Mitchell) about some research she needs done on the standards necessary to file a motion to dismiss in Johnson v. Cunningham Steel. Mitchell also asked you to find a bankruptcy statute she needs in the Halvert v. Shawneecase.

8:38 - 8:40am: One of your least favorite clients, John Hamilton, calls to ask you when he is supposed to be at your office to prepare for his deposition tomorrow. You access the weekly schedule electronically and read him the information he needs.

8:41 - 8:50am: You find the information you need regarding the motion to dismiss in the Johnson case in another case you helped to prepare last month. The research is still current, so Mitchell will be pleased you found it so fast. You see where it took you two hours to research this the first time. You copy the material Mitchell needs, put it on her desk, and also send it to her electronically.

10:46 - 10:54am: One of the secretaries asks you to cover her phone for her while she takes a quick break. Because she always helps you when you've asked for it, you gladly cover the phone for a few minutes. Mitchell asks you to send a fax in Steward v. Glass, so you use this time to send the fax.
