Pick two techniques that you have not tried to use before -- vocalics, the stance, the chop, eye contact triangle, etc... In a room by yourself, physically do these while speaking words aloud to accompany the actions.
After you have practiced, try these out for an audience -- a family member, a co-worker, a friend. Tell them it is for a class. Ask them if these actions seem to make your words more effective.
For your first post, describe the techniques you tried. Describe in a paragraph or two how it felt to use the techniques. What was the reaction you received? Would you want to make changes to these if using them in the future? Would you recommend these techniques to others? For your second and third reply posts, read what your classmates tried. Pick a technique that they used that was different from your original choices. Try it out alone and again with someone else. What response did you receive? How did it compare with what occurred with your classmate? Do you think you might use this in your future speaking opportunities?
