The function of the forensic evidence linkage triangle is to remind the crime scene investigator that each item discovered must be considered as a mechanism for linking the scene, the victim, or the suspect in some form or fashion. The definition of physical evidence is any and all objects that can establish that a crime has been committed or can provide a link between a crime and its victim or a crime and its perpetrator. 

Taking into consideration the above two sentences, describe the purpose of the evidence linkage triangle. 

What type of physical evidence would have evidentiary value to link a victim to a suspect? Suspect to a victim? Victim or suspect to a scene? 

Note the words evidentiary value. Finding the victim's DNA in the victim's residence would not necessarily have evidentiary value.
