The HIM Department at Good Health Care Systems is moving to a new location outside the hospital. This new area will be remodeled according to the department's needs and will move into the billing office building, located about 1 mile from the hospital. Because the new location is smaller than the current one, the department will be switching to remote coding, so coders must be set up to work at home. The reason for this is the successful implementation of electronic medical records. There are old paper medical records that will be stored at a facility that the hospital contracts. Patients must find new service locations because the Release of Information area will be relocated.
