The idea of the group project is to produce an equity analyst report, whereby students assigned to a group (i.e., an analyst team) will conduct a complete fundamental analysis and equity valuation of the company they have been tasked to analyze. A key feature of the group project is that it requires students to identify and obtain all the relevant information. Thus, in addition to being evaluated on their ability to apply the tools of fundamental analysis taught in the course, students will also be evaluated on their ability to identify and obtain all the information that is relevant for the completion of a successful equity appraisal. The fundamental analysis performed by each analyst team should provide solid support for the assumptions and forecasts that drive the equity valuation of the assigned company.
