The individual project consists in reporting a series of business transactions through the relevant T-accounts, the Trial Balance (reporting the Debit and Credit totals), the Income Statement (Statement of Financial Performance) and the Statement of Financial Position (the Balance Sheet). For this you have to create a set of accounts for a profit-driven business enterprise. You can use an existing business and present their activity, structure and a short historic overview of financial results or present your own business idea (business proposal) for a start-up company with an initial (equity) funding by the owners to which you can add debt financing. This will constitute an approx. 400 words report. Based on your business case, you will prepare a set of accounts for that business reflecting approximately 40 realistic business transactions. On the basis of these accounts, you will present the Trial Balance, the Income Statement and the Statement of Financial Position (Balance Sheet) in an appropriate spreadsheet. You will add a short (approx. 150 words) report on your overall informed opinion on the liquidity, solvency and profitability of that business enterprise on the basis of the financial information presented in the books.
