The Internet of Things (IoT), refers to the billions of physical devices that are connected to the Internet, collecting and sharing data. It is a system of interrelated objects (e.g., computing devices, machines, animals or people) that are provided with unique identifiers (UIDs) and the ability to transfer data over a network without requiring human-to-human or human-to computer interaction.

One of the challenges of IoT is the integration of autonomous and smart objects with strong and multiple constraints specific to the wireless communication environments. Among these constraints, the most important ones are the energy consumption, the sustainability, the availability of resources (bandwidth, memory, and CPU), the reliability of data, and the acquisition of data in real time. These constraints may depend on several layers of the OSI model, but more particularly on medium access control (MAC) layer because of the importance of the task accomplished by MAC in the functioning of the network.

Discuss in detail your study and the working principle of your selected MAC protocol and justify why it is capable of addressing IoT requirements.
